Hi, I'm developing a game and I would like your comments. It's going to be a 3D adventure game where the aim is to find your way to the end of the level and also pick up some things along the way. The challenge will be to find your way and keep up your health. I'm thinking of neither putting guns and people to attack nor people and animals attacking you. Do you think this will put people off? Thanks.

As a practice game, this sounds cool, but 3d collection games aren't as mainstream as they used to. Big names like Mario aside, I've seen a lot of badly done games that could fit your description.

Something you may/may not want to get your hands on is Banjo-Kazooie for the N64. This game was a Mario 64 clone that too collection to a new, repetitively boring level.

DO NOT HAVE EVERY COLLECTABLE BE NECESSARY FOR PROGRESSION!

The game had secrets everywhere... which was good. But having to get a different weird fruit to do a different thing in some far-off level of the game is not cool.

Think minimalistic, or just imitate the best series out there. That should help a lot.
