[MDX] DirectX DLL v2.* vs v1.2*

Hi, working on an MDX application earlier I came to a problem: I included Microsoft.DirectX v2* and Microsoft.DirectX.Direct3D v1.2*, and recieved an error that Microsoft.DirectX.Direct3D.Device was defined in both Microsoft.DirectX and Microsoft.DirectX.Direct3D. Changing the Microsoft.DirectX from the v2* to the v1.2* fixed it. Does Microsoft.DirectX v2.* also include Microsoft.DirectX.Direct3D? Can I just include that one reference, and ignore the *.Direct3D reference? Is there any benefit to using one over the other?

As long as v2 is still beta (and somewhat unstable, btw.), I'd use v1.2. Currently there is no real benefit in using v2 apart from incompatibilities and stability issues.
