Firstly, im sorry if this has been asked before, but I can't seem to find much relevant information by searching the forums. About a year ago I dropped the cash for Visual Studio 2003 Enterprise Architect Edition. As far as I know it was the largest most full featured package you could get at the time. It retailed from MS for a little over $3,000. Now I see that you can get the 2005 Express Edition free. So my question is, will I be gaining anything by moving to the 2005 Express Edition?

Not really, the free version doesn't support plugins, and the near constant updating of the intellisense database is a bit of a pain. Express edition does seem to have better Unicode support (that isn't saying much) and I like the UI better, but I can't think of any compelling reason to switch.

Kinda the response I was expecting. I really got lucky when I orderd the software. I actually orderd only the Professional Edition from a "white box" supplier and they messed up and sent the Enterprise Architect version... Needless to say, I gave them a "GLOWING" review, but forgot to mention the shipping error.
