I am just making a copy of a program and so I start a new empty solution, copy the text and compile and get this error. I can't see on the properties where it is different. hfDefault = GetStockObject(DEFAULT_GUI_FONT); //error // error C2440: '=' : cannot convert from 'HGDIOBJ' to 'HFONT' SendMessage( hEdit, CB_ADDSTRING, 0, (LPARAM)"Hello" ); SendMessage(hEdit, WM_SETFONT, (WPARAM)hfDefault, MAKELPARAM(FALSE, 0)); PS the line hfDefault and GetS.. both comes uo with a declaration windef.h so it must be included hfDefault = (HFONT)GetStockObject(DEFAULT_GUI_FONT); that works but I didn't need that in the other copy?why? PPS it was from a .c file , this explains it [Edited by - jagguy on July 8, 2006 8:50:13 AM]
