In the first one, the shading seems a little inconsistent(is not similar to body and wings), but the stipling is a good start -just don't overdo it. Overall the structure seems a little boxy. In addition, I would put some more panel detail into it, but try to use non-black lines(Just darker versions of the color it's going on). It also seems to lack a definite engine.

The second one makes the mistake of pillow shading, and again it lacks much detail on the inside.

You may want to try some more obscure/ less intense coloring, but that's more of a stylistic choice.

Overall the first one is better, and you're not at a bad place to start- good job, in fact, just try researching similar work online.

The colors are too saturated, but the general design looks good. Also, the second image looks pillow shaded (shaded on both sides), which tends to look pretty bad. I don't suppose gamedev, a largely programming-based site, is the greatest place to post this, though. You might want to check out pixelopolis and pixel-arts.org.
