¿is there any way of substract colors by using the opengl blend functions?
You can change the blend equation (as opposed to the blend function) with glBlendEquation. The modes that are of interest to you would be GL_FUNC_SUBTRACT or GL_FUNC_REVERSE_SUBTRACT. You can read more about this function (and the glBlendEquationSeparate function, which can specify a separate equation for color and alpha components) in the OpenGL spec (pdf). These functions were promoted to core OpenGL in version 1.4, so you will have to access them as extensions in Windows.
