Well im going to college in about 2 months, to learn c#. is it hard to program games in c#? should i start writing simple apps, or go straight into games? ive had little experience with programming. i did a little bit of BASIC a few years back, and ive experimented with PHP. Also, could you point me to some good books for games programming and general programming in c#? thanks.

I would reccomend starting out with basic apps as you say instead of games. Just start simple and though you might not feel like you know much you will at least be familiarizing yourself with the C# syntax. I wouldn't worry too much about cramming C# into your brain in 2 months. After all the classes are to learn C#, right?
well id like to get a bit of a head start. my coursework lacked a little in my GCSEs so i want to be a bit further ahead with programing, so i have more time to do the write up.

And cos ive not got very much to do for the next 2 months. Might as well use my time productively.
