I'm making a online game, and am going to start as a small chat program and just expand from that. I'm using C# and .NET 2. Any good tutorials? Is it that important to encrypt infomation that you are sending across the internet, such as a password; but that is assuming that the only person that can sniff the packets is the user itself. Kinda of an off topic question, do I really need to worry about people decompiling my game, sicne its C# and .net?

I've actually been searching for c++ chat tutorial myself so if anyone knows any tutorials about that either I'd be really appreciative.

Sorry if i'm breaking some rules or annoying the thread poster with this post but I figured that posting this here would be better than making a new thread about this same subject, but just about a different language.

Only if you don't want it to be seen by others, and a password would be a good example of something that could use at least some cover-up. Something like the name of a character the player can see, doesn't matter so much, since if it's intercepted, who cares.
