Exporting .x Files - Issue

Exporting without bones showing didn't help.

I am using the skin modifier as well. I'll tried an earlier version of my model without a skin and it still crashes. It appears it crashes with anything I try to export. I have no idea why...

Perhaps you should add a debug.log.

what sort of crashes do you recieve? If the program bugs then maybe you should try a different model.
I bought some books about max and found that the skinned meshes from the books would have bone models too unless the bones where hidden. I can almost garuntee pandaX for the tecnique - or the exporter that comes with the lastest sdk - I have not tried the hplus0603 exporter yet, however I am sure it is cool.

there is also a slight issue to do with bone joint envelopes - if the envelopes are bad then the blend weights and indices will cause the model to break.

I can probably post you a model, however it will have to be in the context of quoting the book.
