Bump mapping is an effect applied to simulate more complex materials - its not anything to do with mapping a 1024x1024 texture to a 1024x768 screen. They are seperate questions [smile]

The _BUMPENVMATxx states make up a 2x2 matrix used in the fixed-function environment bump mapping path. I would suggest you read the Bump Mapping section from the official 'Programming Guide' for more information.
