Fur wacks out my HDR

I have a setup right now that includes an HDR effect. I wrote a simple shells-method fur shader, a 10 pass extrusion of the vertices. When I have HDR enabled, and look toward my object with the fur applied to it, the screen goes black. It's only when the furry object is fully in view, I can see it at the side of the screen to an extent, but if i turn far enough toward it the view just craps out. What do you think my problem is?

The luminance pass is probably picking up the wrong pass in your shader, and registering infinity or something like that. I would debug through the luminance passes and see what's wigging out.
