Being how this is my first post at gamedev.net I thought it only appropriate to say hello first. So hello.. My name is John so feel free to call me by it. I chose Libro cause I thought the odds of someone using that name would be lower than someone using John. I was right. Where I’ve been: IAODT (International Academy Of Design & Technology) enrolled in their Video Game Design & Development program, otherwise known as the money maker for IAODT. In short, the program is a sham and the institute is a cesspool. But luckily I fought my way into a real art school (I waited 5 hours to speak to the director only to be asked if I could come back the next day, which I did and came 3 hours early.) only to be told during a session of fruit drawing that I should really consider business as a career. (Apparently my orange looked like an apple and my banana looked like a squash.) “joke” Where I am: Business school, which I love but still not fully satisfied. I feel as if I’m still being trained to work for someone else, which doesn’t really appeal to me. Which is why I’m going to switch to Entrepreneurship and start a company geared towards the gaming industry. Presently I’m reading a business book titled “The Rules Of Management” by: Rickard Templar. I’m enjoying it and recommend it as a good reference and/or reminder book of how to be a good, consistent boss. After that I’ll pick one of the books from Tom Sloper’s site (found in Lesson 8) and read that. Basically it goes “General business book, programming book, Gaming business book, Art book and then back to general business.” Where I’m going: “Knowledge IS power; But too much power makes you unapproachable.” [Rule 27: Let them think they know more than you (even if they don’t)] Hopefully in three years I’ll have a business plan, funding and a handful of people willing to believe that my dream job is to help others achieve their dream jobs. “Never compare yourself to others, cause they’ll always look better than you. Only compare yourself to yourself, now to then, past to present.” I’m a hell of a lot smarter than I was five years ago but I know I’ll never be Will Wright. I’ll just be Libro. -^- Libro: A Libran Brother.

Welcome, and may I reply to this with a sincere "Hello" from me?
And good luck with your plans.

BTW: html tags on gamedev are the real thing: <tag> instead of [tag]
