If the local bookstore doesn't have any programming books, why don't you buy them online?

I belive Amazon is the store for you in the US.

You might also check your local library or, if you have a college nearby, their library.

You might also consider printing out some of the resources you want to read from the internet. It may cost a lot of money in printing costs, but then again you might be able to leverage that against your mom to bargan for more time on the computer. =)

It's not embarassing at all. I assume you're young in age, so your mother is probably worried that you'll waste your time playing video games or looking at porn all day. And 2 hours a day is not that little time. Can't you explain to her that you need the computer as a tool to educate yourself in programming, which will possibly be your future subject of study and profession? She could give you money to buy some books online, drive you to larger bookstores that are on larger distance from your home(you said you searched only the nearby bookstores) or allow you more time on the internet.
