Hi, I'm having an extremely wierd problem using OpenGL extensions. I'm trying to use VBO's (which I used a lot already in the past) in a little project of mine. So the first thing I do, is check if the extension is supported by the video-card (using: glGetString(GL_EXTENSIONS) ). The strangest thing is that the call returns a "null"-string. Ok, no problem, the compiler probably can't find the glExt.h file. Though, I triple checked and the file is present and good to go. After an hour of goofing around I decided to download an example program which uses VBO's aswell (Lesson45 on nehe.gamedev.net). This project compiles and runs without a single problem and there "glGetString(GL_EXTENSIONS)" returns a nice string with all the supported extensions! What is going on here? glExt.h isn't included in the Nehe project (so it should use the same as mine). The only difference between my project and his, is that I'm running a console-project, but that shouldn't be a problem, right? My compiler is Visual Studio 2005. Thanks!

You need to call glGetString() _after_ you create the rendering context.
