You should check out the tutorials which come with the Direct X SDK. There are some pretty good ones in the SDK HELP file (not the word docs). That should show you all you need to know, and I believe you can view them on the web at http://msdn.microsoft.com/

How would i go about ordering the DIRECT-X 7 SDK??? does it cost me anything? plus I'm looking for stuff that goes into description of what each function does. well not each, but the good ones, for blitting and whatnot.

You can only order the DirectX 7 SDK from microsoft. They have it available for download for one month after the new version is released.

The best resource for leaning about DirectX and it's function is to study the example code and for each function they use, search for it in the help files.

be sure to check out the MSDN library at http://msdn.microsoft.com. it has documentation for Win32, VC++, and all sorts of other stuff. it's also free.

You are currently at a good site: www.gamedev.net

I was wondering if someone could point me towards some tutorials on the web, AND I MEAN ON THE WEB, about Windows Programming, and Direct-X. Preferebly on blitting and creating surfaces.
Thanks

Thanks all, stop replying to this post now. Unless you find more, but pointing me to say... "gamedev" wont help, because i've tried it.
