Which way to update the screen do you use?

Does anyone use spanlists? Or maybe dirtyrectangels(parts of the screen).

Or is the entire screen update most commmon.

Is flip or bltfast best (in DX)?

Hello Macke

I think that updating the whole screen is not common practice (too slow). It is dependant on the game you make and which method you prefer. Dirty rectangles are a popssibility but BSP trees are too. There are many different methods abvailable. Try some simple methods first and then decide for yourself which one to use.
