[MDX] Stereo not work with software VP but those C++ demos has no problem

I'm using the nVidia stereo driver. It doesn't matter whether the d3d app is using software vertex processing or hardware vertex processing. The games run well, the C++ demos run well, but the C# demos and my C# app do not show any stereo as long as they use software VP. And I looked through the users' guide, finding no requirement to use hardware VP. And there's even an option "force hardware TnL off" in the nVidia control panel. That means it should work with software VP. It's strange but MDX is just a wrapper over DX. I guessed it may be because the multi-thread safe creation flag which is on by default in MDX, so I tried to turn it off. But it has no effect. Are there any other differences between MDX and DX which can cause such different behavior?
