3D collision detection/projection

Hey. If I have multiple objects with a scale, and a position, and I want to make sure they aren't drawn off of the screen, how would I translate/project/whatever the 3D coordinates of the object to be the 2D screen coordinates? This also relates to collision detection because I'd like to be able to tell if two objects collide (at the same position).
