Skeptical about CrystalSpace

Yestersay I downloaded and compiled CrystalSpace and for Gods sake that Library is H-U-G-E. Is it worth it for someone to try and learn it?

ha ha ha, ogre's like that too, and i wouldn't really recommend learning them, but rather using them for reference -- to see how they do things. i keep a References directory with source code (commercial game source, open source, commercial game mod sdks, etc) and PDF journal articles that's currently several GB's now lol.

A re-usable engine API is generally rather large, yes.

You don't have to use all of it, obviously.

The flip side of the question is: do you want to spend the time to reimplement all that functionality yourself?
