Multiple textures per material in .X file

I'm not very accustomed to the use of .X files for mesh loading, and I was wondering if someone could tell me if it's possible to load multiple texture maps per material, for instance to perform normal mapping on a selection of a mesh's surfaces. Thanks, Jan-Jaap
