Is it possible to have pygame use .pngs with transpencys? I know it can use .pngs, but I dont want to use colorkey, because the image doesnnt look as clean.

Yes, though colorkey is usually a lot faster.

Remember to use convert_alpha() rather than convert() when loading images.
