Extracting vertices from GLU nurbs surfaces

Hi. I've created a GLU nurbs surface but need to extract all the vertices and normals that make up that surface. I need them so that I can make a file to imprt into povray. Is this possible? After searching around I've gotten a horrible feeling that it isn't. If this is the case, is there another b-spline of nurbs surface library out there that may be able to do this? Cheers Glenn
