I'm looking for a way for my program to control the driver's master volume. Does anybody know of a simple library that I can use for this purpose? Later on I want to add equalizer stuff, but that's a bit more complex i think then I need now. Thanks in advance. -kev

I think both ALSA and ESD provide an interface to change the driver volume, but you'll have to determine which of the sound systems your player is running.

This sounds like something OpenAL might have a feature or two for.
