[.net] ASP.NET Session Timeout
Hi!
Could someone tell me how to set the session timeout interval? I guess it must be set int the web.config, but have no clue, how to do that...
thanks in advance!
There is an entry in web.config called <sessionState.../> which takes an attribute timeout="20". It is a child of the <system.web> node. I guess that's what you're looking for.

Oh, be aware that session time out and your authentication timeout might well be different.

what do you mean? i don't get it :)
/im using the .net login control with custom authentication via a mysql database/
Well consider that the forms authentication may keep a cookie or something that despite the session finishing, keeps them logged on.
So for forms auth at the end of the session you have to sign out...
FormsAuthentication.SignOut();
... and abandon a session....
Session.Abandon();
