New to GDnet
Hello!
I'm new to the gamedev forum, wanted to say hello and introduce myself. Hopefully this is the correct section to do it in.
So... hello :).
So what do most people who post on this forum do? Is it mostly commercial game developers or are there all types?
If by "this forum," you mean the lounge, we mostly vaguely talk about writing games. If you mean GameDev in general, it's mostly homegrown amateur game developers with a few pros mixed in. Some basic tips on the forums:
1. The tech forums are great. I usually get answers to my questions in minutes or hours, as long as I word the question well.
2. Write your posts intelligently. Even if you have a newbie question, you'll get a lot better answers if you spell words correctly, use good grammar, and explain what you've already done to try and find the answer yourself (e.g. Google).
3. Don't get addicted to the Lounge. You'll never get any work done again.
That's it. Welcome!
