Dividing a Texture

I created a heightmap for my game that is 1024x1024. Afterwards I found out that my game engine (irrlicht) only supports 129x129 if you're going to tile them. I tried just scaling down my heightmap but that created too many artifacts. Does anyone know of a program that will slice and dice my bmp heightmap into 129^2 squares? Thanks.

If you don't have Photoshop, then there's got to be literally dozens of free graphics programs that you can use. Have you tried using Paint? You could easily write a program to do it for you. Or better yet, you could have your game program divide the image up at run-time.
