Hi, I'm getting conflicting answers to this question. Does VC++ Express allow the use of sockets? I don't need anything fancy, just a way to get a webpage (raw html) from a web server. Thanks.

Yes.

I have been building applications with sockets, using both UDP and TCP, with VC++ Express without problems.

Thanks, do I have to do anything special to the project file? What files do I have to include? Thank you.

You probably need to download and install the Platform SDK, if you want to use sockets in regular C++. To use sockets in Managed (.NET) space, look into the System.Net namespace.

Yeah, that's what it was. I actually figured it out just before you posted this. Thanks for the help!
