How to show reflective/refractive properties?

i'm trying to implement shader that can calculate reflective/refractive nature of water drop. I don't have to reflect the surrounding world on water drop, so i don't think i need to use cubemap for rendering. Can anyone give some formula on how to calcuate this in pixel shader? thanks
