"for loop" in GLSL shader

Hi everyone! I have tried to see about "for loop" informations, but I still didn't the useful information. My problem : int d = 0; for(int i=0;i<n;i++) d++; In fragment shader, when i==255,the d is 0 i==256 d 1 Can anybody explain to me ? Thanks in advance
