First off all, I am new to this forum, I have been a programmer in gamemaker, a simple game making program but it could not handle much models textures and other things so I want to move on. now I would like to learn C++, I currently have Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Express Edition. Is this the right program to start with or should I start with C#? and where can I get good tutorials for Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Express Edition that explain the basics of coding in C++? As I said I am new so please don't start a flamewar here ;p

Use the forum search. There have been many in-depth conversations about which language is better for learning. The general consensus is that C# is much easier to learn if you want to do graphical windows programs, which is probably what you wanted to know. C++ is great though, if that's what you want to learn. There's just more programming overhead to making a windows application in C++, and you need to learn more of the fundamentals of computers to use it well.

As for the Express IDE itself, it works well.
