Hi, everyone! I'm new to game developing and I have many questions, but for now I will start with this ones: "What methods and programs are you using to build your 3D worlds for FPS Games and how do you load them? How do you put entities on them?". I know only about BSP loading, so any other information will be useful :) Thanks in advance !

Well, how do you put custom made entities in this editors, which are specially made for a specific game engine?

You can use DoomEdit to create your own game levels and the map/proc/cm formats are pretty easy to parse and render. You can also define your own custom entities by adding .def files (containing the entity definition script) to Doom 3.

I'm not working on 3D games so far, but I've designed levels for Half-Life in my spare time for the past 6 years. As Brocketino stated, you can use it's file format (.map) and write a custom convertor for it, or use the Half-Life compile tools and use the .bsp format directly. The modding communities have released various improved versions of the old Quake compilers.

Worldcraft, or Hammer as the most recent version is called, uses .fgd files for it's entity data. This makes it easy to create your own entity list.
