The efficiency in two FBO object

Hi all! I tried to do a sorting. I refer to the "GPGPU Reduction Tutorial" I tried to implement it by one and two FBO object and I saw the result. The result is that the one is faster than two. Can someone tell me some relative papers or informations . Thanks ! ^_^
