I want to put some buttons closer together than the default snap-to distance in Visual Studio. With regular Windows forms, I can go into Tools->Options->Windows Form Designer->General and change the layout settings. This doesn't seem to have any effect on PocketPC forms. How do I turn off the snap-to-position feature in forms designer for PocketPC forms?

If you look at the autoenerated function that initializes the controls, you will see the coordinates that they are positioned to. Modify those values as you see fit.

You should probably also check out the MSDN article titled Improving Microsoft .NET Compact Framework-based Application Form Load Performance. Once you get your layout set up the way you like it, revise the autogenerated code to cut the form load time by half.
