Ditto. I've only read Special Effects Game Programming with DirectX, and it's not that great. And it's all DX8 and fixed function. And ISTR the author does horrible, horrible things like locking the backbuffer.

Thanks.

I've seen that book doesn't spend time explaining how "COM" works, but I'm interested in it as well. Do you know a further book to read after it, which explains how DirectX works?

Regards
There are several COM books, just search on amazon.com or something and read the reviews/previews. Or go to a bookstore.
