surface to texture

Hi all, I'm using directx 8 and "c" and i have a surface in memory (size 32 x 32 called g_pTileOne) which i pulled out of a larger bmp. I need to convert it to a 32 x 32 texture ( i dont want to load the texture from a file or resource, i want to use an existing tile surface in memory). Can someone show me a "simple" way to do that. Thanks in advance! Tae
