Questions about .x files.

Hello, I have some questions about using .x files in DirectX 9.0. I was previously using a custom model format based around .ms3d but am now wanting to learn about .x files in DirectX 9.0 so that I can integrate them into my system. I know how to load .x files and do optimization/rendering but do not know how to skeletally (or otherwise) animate them. I am wondering if someone can point me in the right direction as to how to skeletally or otherwise animate .x files. By otherwise I mean doing operations such as scaling components, translating sub-meshes etc. Basically animating without requiring skeletal animation. I am basically needing information on how to skeletally or otherwise animate .x files and/or a comprehensive list of .x mesh functionalities so that I can learn what they are capable of and what they are not capable of. What kind of support is there for skeletal animation or other animation for .x files? Also, as a side note, does anyone know if the Milkshape exporter will export animation sequences when exporting to the .x format? Thank you for your help. Jeremy
