I have spent the better part of 2 days trying to find a simple tutorial on using WinSock2. I have several tutorial but none of them cover what I really want to learn. I would like to basically make a Chat application that I can include in networked games. I don't want to use MFC or any wrappers. I want to write this app using C++ Any links to tutorials or any helpful suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

all of the above teach you winsock in simple c++ only.
making a simple chat application isnt much difficult.two apps ; one a server and another a client will accomplish the task.
integrating it with your game is just as easy using CreateThread() function (vc++) to make a parallel thread to handle the chat module.

hope that helps
