So, I'm taking Game Development next year...
So, I'm taking Game Development next year and my classes start in January. I wonder if any of you had any experience in Game Development etc. I want to heard your comments, if you like, it was hard etc.
As in Game Development Programming I'm taking:
*Introduction to Game Development
*Level Building and Design
*3D Programming I
*3D Programming II
*System Analysis for Game Development
*Network Programming for Game Development
*Artificial Intelligence
*User Interface Design
*Game Development Project

It would be useful to know where you are taking the courses as people's expierences will vary from college to college.
Well you could get a headstart and start programming now. Wrapping your head around the boring basics (pointers, templates, etc.) will be much harder than learning how to make graphics and the game loop (which is "fun" :) )

Ceoddyn, what's the best way to start programming? I want to start learning so when college start I'm ready to go.

I'm not Ceoddyn, but my suggestion would be to learn Python from a book (such as O'Reilly's Learning Python. Its a great language that lets you be productive fast. You could then learn C/C++ later on, since you will probably need that for a real game development program.
