Quad Outlines

Is it possible to directly render just the outline of a quad, given four vertices? I'm using GLUT which has a few functions to render wire spheres, and wire cubes, but nothing for simple wire quads. Right now, I'm achieving the effect by drawing four quads of neglibible width (which looks like a thick line) as the four lines of the main quad that I wish to draw, thus giving it an outline effect, but I'm pretty sure that's not the right way to do it. Any help?

Hello

Use the instruction glPolygonMode(GL_FRONT_AND_BACK, GL_LINE); before the quad rendering. Then restore the standard behaviour with glPolygonMode(GL_FRONT_AND_BACK, GL_FILL);
