Getting maximum amount of video memory

Hello, small question, how can I get the maximum amount of video memory available (using DirectX or Win API calls). Should be ATI or nVidia independent. Regards, Kenzo

in DX it's the IDirect3DDevice9::GetAvailableTextureMem
it also includes the AGP memory(at least with the cards I tested it on :) )
