visual C++ 97 & d3d9.lib link error

It's visual C++ 97 and here is the complete ERROR: StdAfx.cpp Linking... C:\DXSDK\LIB\d3d9.lib : fatal error LNK1106: invalid file or disk full: cannot seek to 0x3d61ba40 Error executing link.exe.

If I know well, you can't use old visual studio with new DirectX SDK. You need at least Visual Studio 2003, or you can use free version of Visual Express that can be downloaded from Microsoft site.
Acctualy there is old version of DirectX SDK, the first version of DirectX SDK 9.0c that can be used with old version of Visual Studio.
That version supports older versions of Visual C++.
