I need simple image processing to create textures by combining images and rendered fonts. Combining images, scaling, and speed are the main priorities... nothing fancy. These are some libraries i've run across: http://cimg.sourceforge.net/ - All in one header file -> large compilation times at least in optimized compiles. - Contains more stuff than I want. http://openil.sourceforge.net/ - Tried a while back, but looked desolate. now it looks like there have been some recent updates. http://opensource.adobe.com/gil/ - I've just seen all the buzz around this and boost, but haven't really looked at it. Are there any other alternatives you guys know about. Or suggestions of what has worked for you?

I'm currently playing with the use of SDL_image. However I was toying with using 'gd'. It's very simple to use and available on yum as 'gd-devel'.
