Trouble compiling in the .net environment

Hi im a newb obviously. I bought the book Tricks of the windows game programming gurus and am trrying to compile the freakout example in C++.net. I opened a new win32 project added the header and source files and built the solution and i get an error saying cannot compile. please help.

Believe it or not, the particulars of the error messages can often tell you a lot about what is wrong (a lot = more than nothing). You should probably post the text of the errors that you would like people to address. In general, if you can't compile code that is straight out of a book, it has something to do with external libraries. You may be missing a library that the code uses. You may not be linking the library correctly, or you may have a different version of the libraries then the code uses.

When I got "Windows Game Programming for Dummies," I couldn't compile the code because it was written for Direct X 3 and I had 5 installed. Some of the constants were named differently so I had to change them.
