Problem in transforming body imported from NIF file
I am using Gamebryo 1.2 to render some objects in my demo.
There is an object from the NIF file, and an object created on-the-fly (using NiLines).
When I give the same translation to both the objects using the ApplyTransform function of NiNode, the body created on-the-fly translates properely, but the body loaded from the .NIF file doesn't move, and vanishes after sometime.
Can anyone tell me why this might be happening.
Have you read the description in Gamebryo.chm about ApplyTransform? This function "bakes" the applied transformation into the model-space data. The reason the function exists is that the node-based transformation system allows only for translation, rotation, and _uniform_ scale. If you want nonuniform scale, the NiAVObject/NiGeometry/NiNode classes cannot store them, so your only alternative is to propagate the nonuniform scale to the leaf-node model-space data.
My guess is that you should use the NiAVObject functions such as SetTranslate, SetRotate, and SetScale to control your transformations.
