Hello, I browse the web of www.pieterg.com.I read a passage and see texture in the language of shader. But I think texture is not a variable type. Even if is variable type, how translate it from application to shader. Anybody give a sample it? Thank you very much! [Edited by - jollyjeffers on November 16, 2006 8:42:59 AM]

texture is indeed a variable type in HLSL. If you are using the effect framework, you can access it through the function ID3DXEffect::SetTexture(). Note that there are other texture types as well. Each defines a specific style of texture:

texture1D
texture2D
texture3D
textureCUBE

The general texture type is just a generalization of all of them.
