what are the best places to look for entry level java/&#106avascript and i here if you learn html as well that it makes things alot easier
Should you know HTML before trying Java?
Java is a programming language that is not related to HTML or &#106avascript (except for the name). Other than the coincidence that applets appear on webpages, knowing HTML and/or &#106avascript will help little.

Go to Sun's Java site and go through through their tutorials there. This will involve getting the SDK (recommend 1.5) and a IDE (interactive development, a nice graphical program so you don't have to compile from command line) such as NetBeans, Eclipse, JCreator, ... (that's an entire different thread entirely).

[google]
