Hello! I need help installing jogl. I use ubuntu and JDK 5.0. I downloaded jogl-1_0_0-linux-i586.zip and copied the jogl.jar and *.so files into /home/alexander/JOGL. Then I created Test.java: import net.java.games.jogl.*; public class Test { /** * @param args */ public static void main(String[] args) { // TODO Auto-generated method stub System.loadLibrary("jogl"); System.out.println("Test JOGL!"); } } Then I compile with javac Test.java: import net.java.games.jogl.*; Test.java:1: package net.java.games.jogl does not exist import net.java.games.jogl.*; ^ 1 error I searched the web and found that I must set the CLASSPATH to jogl.jar. I tried it, but it doesn't work. Can somebody help me? I started with linux/ubuntu and java, so please keep it simple.

The 'web' is correct. Setting the classpath should fix this problem.

e.g. with jogl.jar in the current directory do:

javac -classpath ".;jogl.jar" Test.java

Alternatively you can set the classpath using the CLASSPATH enviroment variable.

Good luck! :)
