OpenGL exceed shaderlimits - undefined behavior?

i have just extended my terrainshader with bumpmapping but the output seems to be black - independent of input. current behavior: - incredibly high framerate (like terrain isnt rendered) - no opengl error output - no glGetInfoLog output - seems to be sucessfully linked. could this be caused be exceeding shaderlimits (like instruction count)? unfortunately i only have on test computer (broken pc argg) - iMac with Geforce FX5200 and 10.4.6. anyone with familar experiences?
