At the moment yes it does seem small, but only because currently the main references are highly technical and oriented towards the high-end physics community. However compared to three years ago (when I first started getting interested in GA) there are a lot more intros and tutorials on the web for non-physicists and also targeting computer graphics. So use and understanding of it is definitely growing.
