You need to use download recovery software like:

There are several downloaders capable of this.
So when your connection gets broken after only 10 M, you can restart and pick up where you left off instead of starting over.

DX8 is too big !!!
I realize you don't want to download the 135 meg file. But I wanted to point out that there is alot you do not get with the smaller versions of the package. The demos and documents which take up most of that space are imperative if you actualy want to learn how to use direct x. My suggestion would be to get a program like getright and download the HUGE file in parts until you have the entire thing it may take a week or so but at least you won't be completly lost when using it.

the problem is getright doesnt work for the dx8 files. ie the ms sever doesnt support resuming. a cd is a bit to much cash for me as well. i was only wanting dx8 to do some benchmarking with it
